Ely & District Citizens Advice Bureau is a local independent charity serving the needs of local people (the area we serve). We provide a free, confidential and impartial service to everybody regardless of race, sex, disability or sexuality. We also do much to promote social regeneration by helping individuals build a stronger community. Ely & District Citizens Advice Bureau is active in the local community; we work in partnership with public bodies and other voluntary organisations to respond to the needs of the local community.

At Ely & District Citizens Advice Bureau we will attempt to tackle almost any problem put before us, if we don't know the answer we try to put you in touch with others who might. We are above all a practically minded charity and will focus on solving any problem presented to us. Our membership of Citizens Advice provides us with access to the most comprehensive information system in the country.

We offer a complete range of advice but we also have specialist caseworkers in money & debt advice. All our paid and voluntary advisors are professionally trained and are able to undertake complicated assessments of benefits, money issues, employment dilemmas and many other things. We have the skills to represent clients at tribunals and other hearings but unfortunately not the resources or funding to do so at any meaningful level.

We aim to provide clients with a complete service because we recognise that people's lives are increasingly complicated and that one problem is often symptomatic of another. When a client comes to see us we sit down together and determine whether the problem can be solved then and there or a further sit down is needed.
